Happy (belated) birthday, Lucilin!

Last year, the contemporary music ensemble United Instruments of Lucilin was supposed to celebrate its twentieth anniversary. Two decades of creations, musical discoveries, and encounters call for a proper celebration. Due to the pandemic, the concert had to be postponed and reshaped, but it remains an opportunity for the ensemble to meet again and mark the occasion after 20 (+ 1) years of existence and dedication to contemporary creation.

On 10 May 2021, rather than looking back, United Instruments of Lucilin proposes to look ahead and will present two new world premieres at the Luxembourg Philharmonie: "dejar aparecer" by Chilean composer Francisco Alvarado and “Kein Licht Suite", a concert version of Philippe Manoury's thinkspiel/opera “Kein Licht” with mezzo-soprano Christina Daletska, conducted by the ensemble's first guest conductor Julien Leroy and a Luxembourgish creation by Diana Soh, “SSSH”.

So get your tickets for May 10th in the Grand Auditorium of the Philharmonie Luxembourg now! From 19.30 onwards, the Lucilin musicians will introduce you to their 20th-anniversary concert.

In June, the festivities continue : First, on 16 June, they "Play Smart!" at Kinneksbond Mamer (LU) with a concert that combines contemporary chamber music, artificial intelligence, and smart phones. The creative minds of composers Roby Steinmetzer and Alan Edward Williams invite to this spectacular interactive experience. On 29 June, Lucilin is heading south to Granada (ES) with a concert at the Centro Federico García Lorca focussing on different generations of contemporary music with works from Helmut Lachenmann, Fausto Romitelli and the young spanish artist José Luis Valdivia Arias.
